Jesus Is Coming Back, Encourage Someone With The Good News!


2 Thessalonians 1:8-10a (NIV)

He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.  They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed.


 


In the selected verses take note of the phrase “on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people!”  This statement seemed to be worded wrong when I first read it.  It seemed like it should have said among His holy people or something like that.  What it means is, “His glory is seen in what they are!”  1 Thessalonians 3:13 says, “May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.”
