Blog ID #1956: Just Spreading A Little Sunshine

My grandmother once told me a story about my dad when he was just a little boy. She said his hair was so light that she would call him Sunshine. One day she looked outside and he was running around in the yard in circles with his arms spread open wide. When she asked him what he was doing, he said I'm just spreading a little sunshine! My dad was very good at spreading a little sunshine as far back as I can remember in my life. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all could have that zeal in us to spread a little sunshine to the people around us each day. We don't always know who it is around us who really could use a good dose of sunshine in their life each day. So I guess that is why the bible tells us to love one another as He has loved us. That word LOVE is meant to be an action word. Because people won't know they are loved unless we tell and show them! When we do that, we are actually spreading our bit of sunshine around .Think of someone you know today and how you can bring a little sunshine into their life. I believe we miss out on many blessings because we don't take the time to let others around us know how much we love and appreciate them. The Lord has put it on my heart to make myself a list of the people I would like to do something special for and even if I can't get around to them all today, I can make it my goal to complete that list throughout this next week. The wonderful thing about spreading a little sunshine is that it makes the Son shine !!! Matthew 5:16-----Let your light shine before men , that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.John 15:17This is my command: Love each other. Thanks for letting me share with you!In Christ's Love, Babs8/30/2008

Blog ID #1942: My name is Babs

Hello! My name is Babs and I am going to attempt to create my first blog ! I hope you will come away feeling blessed and refreshed. I'm a woman who loves her Lord and would like to take the time to share with you some of the journeys I have taken as the Lord has patiently worked to keep me on the right path! I'm sure I am not the only person who has fallen and needed to be picked up and dusted off by the Lord. Many of you will probably be able to see a bit of your own struggles and feelings . (And think I've been reading your mail!!) The Lord saw fit to send me into a family that loved me and protected me and my brother all our lives. Back then, I just took it for granted that all kids had a home environment like mine. Not until I got older did I realize just how blessed by God I was to have a loving set of God-fearing parents. I came to know the Lord when I was in the second grade! Boy, I can remember that day like it was yesterday! And, guess what? The young lady who led me to the Lord was in the fourth grade! Her name was Jean and she was my best friend and closest neighbor. She was being raised by a mom that lost her husband in the war. It has been over fifty-five years and I have never forgot what she did for me that day! And I will never forget what the Lord did for me that day . Because He took hold of my life and shook this little girl's world with more joy than she could hardly contain! Now, I know you don't want to hear about every little thing I went through as a child, but I felt it important to start at this point because it was a very paramount and blessed time in my life, and it lays the groundwork for the direction my life has taken through the years. Now I'm going to skip forward to the present and tell you a little about my family. My parents have gone on to be with the Lord for several years now. I married my husband on November 10,1962 and we have 3 wonderful sons. My husband's name is Billy and our son's names are David Allen (45 in one week), Billy Wade(42), and Ricky Lee (40). You will be reading their names quite often! We also have 7 granddaughters, 3 grandsons and 1 great-grandson! AND last but not least, 2 wonderful daughter-in-laws!(Notice I didn't give their ages !)Alright ! So I'm an old lady of 63! Well, you can't stay 39 forever, especially when your sons are way past that age themselves! All this means is that I've got a lot of things to share with you. My brother Tommy and his wife Wanda live nearby . My sister-in-law's daughter Belinda and her daughter, Heather, has just recently moved here as well. We feel very fortunate to have them living so close to us. In fact, my husband, Belinda and I are in the process of starting this online business called, guess what---My Potters Hand . We feel blessed to have Belinda to be a part in helping us make this venture a success and we invite you to visit our website often. I hope you will visit often and let me share some of my thoughts and feelings with you and maybe, in return, you can share some things with me. I would appreciate hearing your comments in the future. You will see the phrase MY POTTERS HAND pretty often, because I believe my life has been molded by my potter's hand and that special touch by Him is what makes life so special. I'd like to leave you with a thought to ponder before I sign off. Have you felt the touch of my Potter's hand on your life? If so, Where would your life be now if it weren't for the Potters hand on your life? If not, what are you waiting for? Thank you for your patience, and I hope you will visit me again. Love in Christ, Babs 8/20/2008
